What Is Involved in the Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Process?

Before I file the Chapter 13 forms on your behalf, you will have to go through credit counseling and take a means test. The credit counseling requirement is fairly straightforward, and the means test is required to verify that you qualify for Chapter 13.
The focus of Chapter 13 bankruptcy is creating a repayment plan that works for you, and then getting that plan approved by the bankruptcy court. The plan will require that you pay a certain amount each month for three to five years. Despite the length of the plan, filing bankruptcy immediately puts a stop to home foreclosure and repossession processes.
